Two police operatives and one member of the community vigilante were injured during operation to arrest suspected kidnappers on Saturday at Adgbabiri community in Sagbama Local government area of Bayelsa State.
Community sources told Daily Trust that the suspected kidnappers were plotting to seize a victim in the community when the vigilante group alerted the police who rounded off their hideout.

It was gathered that two of the suspects were were arrested, while others escaped from the scene of the foiled kidnapping incident.
Police spokesman in Bayelsa State, SP Asinim Butswat, who confirmed the incident, said that two of the suspects were arrested by police operatives.
He said: “Operatives of Sagbama Divisional Police Station in collaboration with community youths and vigilante members of Adagbabiri community of Sagbama Local Government Area have arrested two suspected kidnappers.
“The suspects namely; Odulima Igbogiri ‘m’ of Okogbie community and Moses Joshua ‘m’ of Ahoada Town both in Ahoada West LGA of Rivers State, were arrested at Adagbabiri while planning to kidnap someone in the community.
“The suspects stabbed two police officers and one community youth, while resisting arrest. The injured officers are responding to treatment at the Sagbama General hospital. The suspects are undergoing interrogation. Investigation is ongoing.” He said.
