A 40-year-old man and father of four who was arrested for raping minors in Niger has revealed his mode of operation–he enticed his victims with N200 and bread before raping them.
Festus Okeke was arrested by police operatives attached to Kafin-koro in Paikoro local government area for “raping two minors and engaging in gross indecency with two other minors”.
Okeke, who was paraded at the State Police Command in Minna said he lured the four girls into his shop at Ishau village during and after Easter celebration.
He was alleged to have had carnal knowledge of two of the girls while he fiddled with the private parts of two other girls with his fingers.
The victims are ages between 10 to 13 years.
Okeke who was said to be a serial rapist had been prosecuted at the Chief Magistrate Court 1 in Minna for similar incidents.
Speaking to journalists during his parade, the suspect confessed that he gave the girls loaves of bread and N200 for the celebration of Easter.
Okeke who is also a father of four said that it was a mistake and that he regretted engaging in the act.
The state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Wasiu Abiodun said that the community reported the suspect to the police in Paikoro after the girls reported the incident to their parents.
He said that the case is under investigation and the suspect would be charged to court soon.
