The suspected serial killer in Akinyele, Akinyele Local Government, Ibadan, Sunday Shodipe, who the Oyo State Police Command rearrested last Sunday, has revealed how he killed his last victim, Mrs Funmilayo Oladeji, after he escaped from police custody.

Shodipe, who had confessed to the killing of six women when the police paraded him on July 17, 2020, said on Wednesday that he killed Oladeji in her residence at Onikeke community, Akinyele, Ibadan, on August 13, two days after he escaped from police custody.

He explained that he was able to escape when an Inspector attached to the Divisional Police Headquarters, Mokola, Ibadan, permitted him to take his bath within the premises of the station.

Shodipe, who revealed this when the Oyo State Commissioner of Police, Mr Joe Enwonwu, re-paraded him alongside other suspects arrested in connection with various criminal activities in the state, said he inflicted machete injuries on the woman on the head and left her in a pool of blood.

Enwonwu said Oladeji was rushed to the University College Hospital, Ibadan, where she died.

The police Commissioner said that in another incident, eight suspects had been arrested in connection with a bank robbery that took place in Okeho, in the Oke-Ogun geopolitical zone of the state.

He listed exhibits recovered from the suspect as four AK-47 rifles, three assault rifles, 18 live ammunition and seven expended ammunition.

The arrested suspects are Mohammed Ibrahim, Mohammed IIiasu, Hammed Lukman, Mohammed Abdulmaleek, Azeez Yinusa, Adekunle Sunmonnu, Friday Okorie and Akanni Olaniyi.

Enwonwu added that five suspected kidnappers were also arrested in connection with the kidnap of Mr Fatai Ogunniyi along the Maya-Igboora road in the Ibarapa geo-political zone of the state.

The suspected kidnappers the police arrested are Umaru Lawal, Yahaya Mohammed, Manu Tambaya, Wetti Abubakar and Adamu Bahago.
