According to him, on 31st December 2021, the suspect deceived him and took him to Danbatta where he collected the money and asked him to spend the night at his house.

“In the morning, when I realised he is a fraudster I asked him to give me back my money because I didn’t want to get involved in the movie anymore. But he refused and conspired with his friend; together, they pushed me inside a nearby building.

“He and his friend attempted to kill me as they tried to push me inside a well but I luckily escaped. He brought out a sharp knife and attempted to cut my throat. I luckily escaped but they collected my phones,” the victim narrated.

He said after escaping with cuts on his throat, he rushed to the Danbatta Police Station for rescue, where he was taken to hospital.

However, after receiving the complaint, the Kano State Police Command instructed a team of Operation Puff Adder led by CSP Ubangari Usman Shehu to arrest the culprits, as stated by the spokesperson of the Command DSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa.

“The team immediately swung into action. Sustained efforts and credible intelligence led to the arrest of the prime suspect, Abubakar Jibril, ‘m’, aged 30 years old, of Danbatta LGA Kano State.

“On investigation, the suspect confessed to the crime and the Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, CP Sama’ila Shu’aibu Dikko, fsi ordered for discreet investigation and arrest of the fleeing suspected accomplice,” the PPRO said.

Meanwhile speaking when he was paraded by the police, the suspect, Abubakar Jibril said, “I did all that the victim has said but it was an act of the devil that forced me.

“I regret my actions and will never repeat them. Even the money I collected and the phones are with my friend Abdullahi, I didn’t use it at all,” he said.
