A high-ranking traditional title holder in Daura emirate, the Magajin Garin Daura, Alhaji Musa Umar was abducted this evening In Daura town by armed gunmen.
The gunmen numbering six in a blue Peugeot car forcefully abducted him after Magrib prayers in front of his residence located at Kwanar Agam in the city centre.
The spokesman of the Daura Emirate council, Usman Ibrahim said people tried to rescue him but the abductors fired shots in the air to scare the people.
Eyewitnesses told Daily Trust that the gunmen were dressed like security personnel waiting by the house.
” He usually stays there after Magrib to wait for Isha Prayers before finally returning to his house.’ a source said
Meanwhile the police is yet to comment on the matter.
