A family member of the abducted paramount ruler of Gindiri town of Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State, Charles Mato Dakat, has explained how the traditional ruler was kidnapped in the early hours of Sunday.

The whereabouts of the abducted paramount ruler is still unknown as at the time of filing this report.

The family member narrated that the armed men invaded the house at about 1:30 am. “Upon their arrival, they found it very difficult to get access to the house because the gate to the house was already locked.

“Realising that it would be difficult to access the house through the main entrance, they demolished part of the fence and destroyed the window before finally abducting the paramount ruler.”

He said the demolition of the fence and destruction of the window took the gunmen more than an hour before they finally went with the victim, adding that, “They arrived at 1:30am and left around 2:30am of that Sunday.”

Daily Trust reports that there hasn’t been information about the whereabouts of the traditional ruler as the family is yet to be contacted.

Major Ishaku Takwa, the spokesman of the Operation Safe Haven (OPSH), a multi-security task force maintaining peace in the state who confirmed the development on Sunday, said troops of the operation had been mobilised to the area and had been on the trail of the kidnappers.

Also, the spokesman of the State Police Command, ASP Ubah Gabriel, confirmed the incident, adding that the police tactical team had been deployed to arrest the perpetrators.
