An old video of Governor of Kaduna State, Nasiru El-Rufai, attacking former President Goodluck Jonathan for pardoning convicted people has emerged.
The video surfaced on Twitter in the wake of a presidential pardon granted to former governors Jolly Nyame and Joshua Dariye by President Muhammadu Buhari last week.

El-Rufai, who is a member of the All Progressives Congress led by Buhari, has not spoken against the president’s decision.
But in the old video, El-Rufai criticised Jonathan after the latter granted a similar pardon to a former governor of Bayelsa State, Diepriye Alamieyeseigha.
According to El-Rufai, pardoning people convicted for corruption is not fighting corruption.
He had said, “Nobody says you should eradicate corruption but don’t go around pardoning convicted people that have been convicted by regular cost for corruption and then you said you are fighting corruption, you are sending the wrong signal; not only to those engaging in corruption but also to young people who see that there is reward in being corrupt, this is what Jonathan is doing.
