A 36-year-old driver, Amos Daniel, has been arrested by the Lagos State Police Command after stealing his employer’s car on his first day at work.
Daniel confessed to taking the car to his church to testify to God’s many miracles.
Thankgod Kesh-David, a 25-year-old suspect who pretended to be a roadside technician to fix broken-down cars before vanishing with them, was also paraded by the police.
In a related development, two former soldiers namely Akeem Suleiman and Abdulau Mohammed that were dismissed in 2014 and 2017 respectively, were arrested for their involvement in a gang robbery that used military gear to operate.
The police recovered military uniforms, headgear, and identification cards from the suspects.
Similarly, a four-man gang known for carjacking who have been operating for an extended period in Lagos was apprehended by the police tactical team in Surulere.
Briefing newsmen in Lagos, SP Benjamin Hudenyin, the police spokesman, said: “We have successfully arrested a robbery gang through our tactical team based in Surulere.
“The four-man gang specialized in snatching vehicles at gunpoint from motorists in Lagos.They have been operating for quite a long time”.
