How Buratai wiped our tears — Osun monarch

The Former Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt General Yusuf Tukur Buratai (Retd)

The Olowu of Kuta in Osun State, Oba Hammed Adekunle Oyelude Makama, on Tuesday said the former Chief of Army Staff, Lt-Gen. Yusuf Tukur Buratai (rtd.) wiped the tears of the people of the town and its environs with the construction of a bridge on the river that separated the communities.

He said the bridge constructed by the military has reconnected the town to Ede and other communities and aided development of socio-economic activities in the area.

Prominent indigenes of Kuta and top personalities in the state join Oba Oyelude Makama for an interdenominational thanksgiving he organised in honour of Lt-Gen. Yusuf Tukur Buratai (rtd.) at his palace in Kuta.

Muslim and Christian clerics including the Chief Imam Kuta, Alhaji Abdul Akeem Soliu Oloyin and Venerable Michael Dadamu prayed for Buratai to succeed in his new assignment as an ambassador.

Oba Hammed Oyelude Makama said Buratai is a detrabalised Nigerian and charged all Nigerians to live together peacefully, saying that the unity of Nigeria is non-negotiable.
