How Bandits Forced Kidnapped 13-Year-Old To Rear Cattle For Two Years

A 13-year-old boy kidnapped by armed bandits from Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna has been rescued by the police.

It was gathered that the teenager was held by his captors and made to rear cows for them for two years, before his rescue by the Zamfara State Police Command.

The spokesman of the state police command, Muhammad Shehu, on Wednesday, further said two other victims who were abducted in their village; Tumburku in Giwa LGA of Kaduna State were also rescued near Mashayar Zaki forest in Dansadau Emirate of Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

“The Police Tactical Operatives deployed along Dansadau axis, while on rigorous anti-banditry patrol, successfully rescued three kidnapped victims including a female and a 13-year-old boy. The rescued victims were taken to a nearby hospital where they received medical treatment before being debriefed by the police detectives.

“The state commissioner of police in the state Zamfara, Mr Ayuba N. Elkanah commended the police operatives for the successful rescue of the victims and tasked them to sustain the tempo.”
