A magistrates’ court in Kaduna has ordered a housewife, Hadiza Ahmed, to sweep the court’s premises for five days for beating her neighbour.

The magistrate, Ibrahim Emmanuel, said, “You are hereby ordered to sweep and clean up the court for five days under the supervision of the court’s registrar.

“The sentence will serve as a deterrent to others who do not want to live in peace with their neighbours.”

Earlier, the prosecutor, Insp Chidi Leo, told the court that Hadiza committed the offence on March 21, at Tudun Wada, Kaduna.

Ins Leo said, Hadiza, without any provocation, insulted the complainant, Mrs Farida Musa, which led to a fight in which Hadiza beat Mrs Musa to a pulp. (NAN)
