A 17-year-old housewife, Nguemo Ikyowe, has been arrested by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) for allegedly killing her three-year-old stepson, Vanen Ikyowe, in Ginde village in Guma LGA of Benue State.
Our correspondent reports that the incident took place on September 12, 2024.
NSCDC’s State Commandant, Larai Bitrus, told journalists at the weekend that the suspect would be transferred to the police.

The suspect, during an interview, claimed to have been possessed by a spirit at the time the killing occurred.

She said that the event happened while she was in the bush with her stepson gathering firewood.
