The All Progressive Congress aspirant for Ede/Egbedore/Ejigbo Federal Constituency in Osun State, Dr. Richard Adekola Idowu, has charged members of the party to respect party supremacy and shun divisive tendencies.

Idowu, who is popularly known as Adeoriokin, said he remains a committed APC member and that he does not belong to any splinter group in the party.

Adeoriokin said he does not belong to The Osun Progressive (TOP) caucus supported by the Minister of Interior and former Governor of the state, Mr Rauf Aregbesola or any other splinter group.

The Founder and President of RAI Global Trust Foundation said, “the situation we find ourselves in our party today is nothing to brag about and cannot be the joy of any well meaning party member including myself. And at a time like this, all we need is decorum and not spreading unfounded rumours.”

He urged party members and leaders to discountenance the rumours making the round that he belongs to TOP caucus, describing it as the handwork of idle minds and detractors.

He called on party leaders to bring agreived members of the party to roundtable discussion and find a lasting solution the crisis in the party.

His words: “There has never been a time when beneficiaries will be asked to produce any means of identification to show which caucus he/she belongs.

“It worth to note that the Adeoriokin movement has been canvassing APC party members trying to defect to other party to stay with APC through our numerous empowerment programs and activities geared at fostering unity and peaceful coexistence like the just concluded Adeoriokin artisans football competition in Ejigbo LGA and also 8 aside football competition in Ede north and south LGA.”

“The final of the football competition hosted both in Ejigbo and Ede was well attended by leaders from our party, the All Progressives Congress. The three Local Government chairmen from Ejigbo were in attendance and virtually all the party’s executives in Ede North and South were in attendance.

“My team comprises of party members who for reasons best known to them might belong to any of the caucuses in our party. My program has always been to promote the party image and not a caucus within the party. There is no program of mine where any of the caucuses in the party is promoted”, he said.
