Hospital audits treatment of DSS officer shot by NSCDC personnel

The Management of LAUTECH Teaching Hospital, Osogbo says it has commenced probe on the treatment and death of the operative of the Department of State Service, (DSS), Seyi Adebowale, who died in the hospital after being shot by a personnel of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Sunday Dada.

Dada who was posted to the palace of the Olowu Kuta, Oba Hammed Makama in Ayedire Local Government Area of the state for an assignment allegedly shot Adebowale who was also on duty at the palace on September 15.

The DSS operative was rushed to LTH and he was operated twice before he died on Wednesday, September 30, after spending two weeks in the hospital.

But the family and colleagues of the deceased while grieving alleged that the hospital mismanaged his case and the  issue was generating serious controversy in the state and also causing confusion.

The LTH Public Relations Officer, Ayodele Adeyemo while speaking on behalf of the management of the hospital said doctors made frantic efforts to save the life of DSS operative but couldn’t.

He said Adebowale was operated twice in order to ameliorate the complications from the injury sustained but he did not survive.

He said, “Efforts are being  made to audit the death of this officer with a postmortem and a panel to look at all the care given from reception till he died”.
