Hope for baby dumped at uncompleted building in Ekiti

The wife of the Ekiti State governor, Erelu Bisi Fayemi, has agreed to foot the hospital bill of a newly born baby dumped by her yet-to-be-unidentified mother in an uncompleted building along Goshen Avenue in the Adebayo area of Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital.

The baby was discovered in an uncompleted building about 10pm on Monday with its placenta still attached to its umbilical cord.

Our correspondent learnt the baby was dumped naked on a bare floor in the building and was crying when residents heard the noise and contacted government officials and security agencies on the development.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Ekiti Command, Mr Sunday Abutu, said, “We got a call  that a newly born baby was abandoned in an uncompleted building in Adebayo area. We recovered the baby and immediately moved her to EKSUTH, where she is now undergoing some treatment and care”.
