A commercial motorcyclist, simply identified as Yahaya, has been stabbed to death by two suspected hoodlums who escaped with his motorcycle in Tukurwa village in Kwali Area Council of the FCT.
A resident, Moses Bala, said the incident happened on Wednesday around 6pm when the hoodlums engaged the cyclist at the Kwali Market to take them to a village for a fee of N6,500.
He said, “It was learnt that the hoodlums gave him N3,000 as part payment to buy fuel before he conveyed them.
“While on their way, the hoodlums forced the cyclist to divert into the bush but the cyclist refused and one of them brought a knife and stabbed him on the neck twice he fell down before they dragged him into the bush and tied his mouth, hands and legs and fled with his motorcycle.”
He further said some farmers who were returning from the farm late evening discovered the corpse of the cyclist and alerted vigilantes, who came to retrieve it. The spokeswoman of the FCT Police Command, SP Josephine Adeh, was yet to issue a statement on the incident.
