Hoodlums stab cyclist to death in FCT

Suspected motorcycle thieves have stabbed a commercial motorcyclist, Benjamin Musa, to death in Kwaku village in Kuje Area Council of the FCT.

A resident, Ishaya Bamayi, explained that on Tuesday around 5pm two hoodlums who pretended to be timber operators hired the cyclist to convey them to Geshe community, but that after about a kilometre they forced the cyclist to stop.

He said, “After they forced the cyclist to stop in the middle of a forest, they dragged him down and stabbed him with a knife, after which they used a cloth to tie his mouth and escape with his motorcycle.”

He further said that the cyclist’s corpse was discovered by the roadside by a farmer, who alerted vigilantes in Kwaku, who mobilised to the scene, evacuated the corpse and handed it over to the deceased’s family.

City & Crime further gathered that a similar incident happened last around Kuchiako village, a few kilometres from Kuje town, when hoodlums strangled to death a commercial motorcyclist and escaped with his motorcycle.

The spokeswoman of the FCT Police Command, SP Adeh Josephine, said she would find out about the incident and get back to our reporter.
