A pastor with the Fire Power Miracle Centre, Ganaja-Lokoja, Kogi State, Monday Alhassan, and his wife were reportedly abducted  by hoodlums, who later demanded a N10 million ransom.

A witness said the incident happened at their residence opposite Wada Housing Estate along the Lokoja-Ajaokuta highway on Tuesday evening after they closed from church service.

A neighbour, Mallam Abubakar Jamiu, said the hoodlums invaded the pastor’s residence and whisked him and his wife away and later placed a call to a family member demanding ransom.

He, however, added that the pastor’s wife was released on Friday after the payment of N300,000 to their abductors, leaving the husband behind .

He said, “N300,000 was paid this evening, with items including rice, beans, crates of malt and milk, Maggi, palm oil, N20,000 airtime and loaves of bread to release the wife.

“They took all and released only the wife, insisting on collecting the balance of N7m or otherwise they would kill the pastor within a few days.

The state’s police spokesman, SP William Aya, did not respond to a call and an SMS on the incident at the time of filing this report.
