Hoodlums break into government warehouse, cart away food items

Armed hoodlums, on Thursday, broke into Lagos State Government warehouse at Mazamaza area and looted food items worth millions of naira.

Items carted away included bags of rice, beans, garri and maize.

The warehouse is among several others where COVID-19 palliatives were kept and are yet to be distributed.

The angry urchins, who got wind that COVID-19 palliatives were kept there, stormed the place around noon on Thursday and started carting all they met.

News of the free for all distribution of food items later spread to other urchins at Mile 2 who also besieged that place in their numbers.

The armed urchins later attempted to attack Satellite Police Station on Old Ojo Road, but were repelled by the police assisted by youths of the area.
