Many people were injured and property destroyed when hoodlums attacked supporters of the Labour Party (LP) on Thursday at Bode Thomas in the Surulere area of Lagos State.
Although nobody died in the attack, an eyewitness said scores of people sustained injuries.
The witness said the thugs who arrived at the venue of the campaign rally with a public address system started shouting “Say No to Labour Party in Surulere”.
Our correspondent sighted a video of some LP supporters narrating their ordeals in the hands of the thugs.

A woman was seen shouting that her belongings including her eyeglasses were stolen by the hoodlums.Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Benjamin Hundeyin, said one person sustained injuries in the clash.
He, however, said he could not attach the hoodlums to any political party.
Hudenyin also said one tricycle belonging to the hoodlums was recovered and that members of LP had officially reported the attack to the police.
