A yet-to-be identified hoodlum reportedly jumped into the fence of an uncompleted building at Unguwar Sabon-Tasha in Abaji in the FCT and stole a goat.
A resident of Unguwar Sabon-Tasha, identified as Abdullahi, said the incident happened on Thursday around 2:12 pm when the owner of the goat came to feed it but discovered it was missing.
He said the hoodlum took the goat to the LEA primary school at Unguwar Wadata with the aim of slaughtering it and package the meat inside a sack.
He said a resident of the area, who saw the suspect with the goat inside the classroom became suspicious and immediately alerted some neighbours.

He said, “When the man who saw the suspect with the goat inside the classroom trying to slaughter it raised an alarm, the suspect abandoned the goat and escaped.”
According to him, the owner of the goat was informed and he rushed to the classroom, where he saw the goat.
“The owner took his goat even though there was an injury around its throat as the suspect already placed a knife on it and was about to slaughter it before he was caught,’’ he said.
City & Crime learnt that the owner of the goat later slaughtered it and invited a butcher who came to buy it.
The spokeswoman of the FCT police command SP Adeh Josephine could not be reached for comment on the incident.
