Hoodlum arrested for snatching woman’s bag in Abuja

One among three suspected armed hoodlums on a motorcycle has been arrested by the police for snatching a woman’s hand bag at the Area 1 Roundabout in Abuja.

The FCT Commissioner of Police (CP), Garba Haruna, while speaking with newsmen, said the hoodlums inflicted injuries on the woman, identified as Evelyn Okolie, as she was waiting to board a taxi.

He said, “Luckily, while the woman shouted for help, police from the Durumi Police Station on a stop-and-search flagged down the motorcycle and arrested one Musa Abdullahi with a machete stained with blood while his two accomplices escaped.”

He said the victim was receiving treatment at the National hospital, Abuja.

The CP further disclosed that police operatives from Life Camp Division on routine surveillance patrol intercepted one Damilola Akeredolu inside a Toyota Corolla with registration number: RSH 144 RD, which he said belonged to one Blessing Aigbagboga of Efab Global Estate, Life Camp.

He said the victim parked the car in front of her residence and that the suspect gained access to it with the intention to steal it.
