The Honda Element is available in both front-wheel and all-wheel drive configurations and a choice of three trim levels: the LX, the EX and the (FWD only) SC. All trim levels are equipped with a 166-hp 2.4-liter inline 4-cylinder engine, mated to available five-speed manual or automatic transmissions.

The rugged LX is equipped with 16-inch steel wheels, a CD player and air conditioning, while the EX adds further refinements that include alloy wheels, satellite radio, MP3 capability, an auxiliary input jack and a convertible centre console with removable cooler box.

The sporty SC is exclusively outfitted with a monochromatic exterior, custom grille, 18-inch alloy wheels, unique seat upholstery and piano black interior trim elements. Standard safety features on every Element include anti-lock disc brakes with brake assist, Vehicle Stability Assist with traction control, front side-impact airbags, front and rear side curtain airbags and a tire pressure monitor. New for 2009, the front seats are now equipped with active anti-whiplash head restraints.

The Honda Element is completely redesigned for 2009, with exterior and interior styling changes, as well as new standard and optional equipment. The EX and SC trims get a new modular overhead console with improved storage, as well as an optional voice-activated navigation system with rearview camera and USB audio interface. Additionally, the rear skylight has been discontinued.

The 2009 Element, revamped. It’s still designed for those who navigate on their own terms, now with more fun, freedom and flexibility, from the inside out.

Under the hood lives a 2.4-liter i-VTEC® engine with advanced features like an aluminum-alloy block and head.

Big Motivation

Take off with 166 horsepower under the hood, Real Time™ 4WD for tricky terrain and 1,500 lbs of towing capacity.*

Balanced Power

The Element’s advanced i-VTEC®, 16-valve DOHC engine design provides the best of both worlds: power for cruising and twin balance shafts for smooth, quiet running.

Sophisticated Suspension

Smoothing out the bumps with its Control-Link MacPherson Strut Front Suspension and precise steering, the Element’s road manners may be better than yours.

*Towing requires the addition of the Honda accessory trailer hitch and hitch ball. Consult your local Honda dealer for additional towing information.

Always ready for action, the functional Element is the ultimate adventurer’s tool.

Unorthodox Box

Take a closer look at its rectangular appearance. It’s everything but square.

 Activity Zone

Open the clamshell tailgate and side cargo doors for spontaneous socializing at the beach or big game.

 Unconventional Angles

With new 16” alloy wheels (EX) an impressive stance on the new front grille and redesigned headlights, quirky reinvents stylish.

For work or play or a little of both, the Element has an interior that’s as versatile as you need it to be.

Digital

Expand your possibilities. On the EX, available voice-activated Honda Satellite-Linked Navigation System™* provides 7,000,000 destinations. On your drive there, hook up to the new USB Audio Interface† (navigation-equipped models) and use the vehicle’s audio controls to surf and play your digital music. And while reversing, use the rearview camera (EX with navigation) as your personal back-up buddy.

 Reachable

A storage revolution, a place for everything, right at hand. With a new removable cooler in the added center console (EX), a redesigned overhead storage console (EX), and a non-traditional yet functional instrument panel, the Element keeps your things in reach.

 Adaptable

Configurable seating and versatile cargo design allow you to flip, fold or take the rear seats out for 64 different space options.

 “Wipedownable”

Don’t worry about dirt, sand, renegade food crumbs or even pet spills. With its black, scratch-resistant utility floor and tough water-resistant FXC™ seat fabric, the Element is rugged to use and easy to clean up.

*The Honda Satellite-Linked Navigation System™ is available on the Element EX automatic-transmission models in the United States, except Alaska. See your local Honda dealer for details.
