The Hollywood Walk of Fame will posthumously celebrate Tupac Shakur with a star, the association announced on May 31, 2023.
Sekyiwa “Set” Shakur, the late rap icon’s sister, will accept the honour on his behalf on June 7.
Ana Martinez, the producer of the Hollywood Walk of Fame, said in a statement: “Tupac Shakur was a rapper, actor, activist, poet, and revolutionary.
“This iconic artist has continued to be part of the zeitgeist for decades after his passing and will continue to be an important cultural figure for many years to come.”
At the age of 25, 2pac was assassinated in 1996. He had a successful music and film career, influencing the hip-hop genre and gaining a large following around the world. He has sold more than 75 million records worldwide, and two of his albums have earned Diamond certification.
