The Hisbah Command in Jigawa State has intercepted eight 25-litre jerry cans of a local alcoholic drink popularly known as burukutu.
The interception was made in the Maigatari Local Government Area where the command also seized 96 bottles of assorted alcoholic drinks on Tuesday.

The Hisbah commander in Jigawa, Malam Ibrahim Dahiru, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) about the seizure on Tuesday.
He said the command’s operatives seized the drinks at about 3 am when they raided the area.
The commander enjoined residents to be law-abiding as the consumption of alcoholic beverages was prohibited in all parts of the state. (NAN)
