Hisbah destroys 6,000 bottles of beer in Kano

Kano state Hisbah has destroyed over 6,000 bottles of alcohol valued at over N1m in the state.

Leading the destruction of the intoxicants, the Hisbah Commandant in Gwale Local Government Area, Alhaji Bala Sabon-Sara said the alcoholic drinks were confiscated at various entrances into the local government.
He said the crates of the drinks were seized within one year.

He said the board had secured a court’s permission to destroy the items “We caught the contraband as it was being illegally transported into Gwale Local Government Area.

“We have over 6,000 bottles and sachets. We made sure of the place we choose for exercise because we need a place we can bury the item after burning.
