Governor AminuTambuwal of Sokoto State yesterday urged prayers for sustainable peace and security in the state and Nigeria.
He also approved today as public holiday to mark the Islamic New Year.
A statement by Permanent Secretary, Media and Public Affairs,Abubakar Shekara, said this was to allow the Muslim faithful to mark the Islamic New Year 1441 A.H which began on Saturday.
“Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal enjoins the people to seize the opportunity to pray for peace and the security of Sokoto State and Nigeria as a whole, “ he stated.
