‘Higher education curriculum should be internationalised’

The Registrar, Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Professor Is-haq Olarewaju Oloyede, has stressed the need to make the curriculum for higher education international.

Professor Oloyede, who gave his goodwill message at the maiden edition of the University of Lagos International Week, said education provided at tertiary level should enable beneficiaries operate across national boundaries.

He also said that teachers, administrators and recipients of education at tertiary level should be trained for the global market and not only for the local market.

“Part of internationalisation is missing because without internalising the internationalisation of education, we will be wasting our energy and efforts.”

“We must come together and build education that will be functional and useful for the development of humanity. Unless we re-invest ourselves, we are going to lose out in the emerging market,” Oloyede said.
