The police in the FCT have arrested a herder at Gwako community in Gwagwalada Area Council after he stabbed his sibling to death during a scuffle.
The Secretary of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) in the area, Muhammad Usman, told City & Crime yesterday that the victim, Yusuf Hussaini (28), earlier engaged his brother, Salihu Hussaini, in an argument and that the matter was settled by some elders.
Usman explained that, “They are both of the same age from the same father but separate mothers and living in their family compound with their parents and their wives.
“On that day, “Yusuf asked Salihu to put his sheep under control, as he accused him of releasing them in the night to destroy farm produce in the community. This led to a serious argument but it was settled by some elders.

“However, the argument resurfaced after sunset when most of the men were in the mosque. Salihu then stabbed Yusuf with a knife on the neck which resulted in his death. Yusuf fled the community but reappeared two days later. The police arrived and took him into their custody.
The FCT Police Command’s spokesperson, DSP Josephine Adeh, was yet to respond to a message sent to her about the incident at the time of filing this report.
