Herder stabs farmer in Niger

A 27-year-old man, Muhammadu Musa, of Lafiagi-Zadi, Kataeregi Ward in Katcha LGA of Niger State has been stabbed in his stomach on his farm by a suspected herder.

The victim, currently receiving treatment in a private hospital in Minna, reportedly returned home on Saturday holding his intestines that gushed out in his hands after he had gone to check his groundnut farm.

His father, Musa Muhammad, told City & Crime that they had spent close to N2m on treatment, calling on the Niger State Police Command and the Niger State Government to bring the suspect to book.

Also speaking, Umar Danladi Haruna, an uncle to the victim, said the matter had been reported at the Kataeregi police division.

But the spokesman of the Niger State Police Command, SP Wasiu Abiodun, did not respond to an enquiry from City & Crime on the incident.
