A suspected herder, identified Idris Ibrahim, has reportedly stabbed a farmer, Adi Beneditch, following an argument over destruction of a cassava farm by his animals.
It was gathered that the incident happened at Ugbo-Ayon community, off Benin-Agbor road in Uhunmwode Local government Council Area of the state.
It was gathered that the suspect was arrested by the police operatives at Okhuaihie Division after the incident.
The farmer, it was gathered, confronted the herder for grazing in his farm and that infuriated the herder, who allegedly stabbed the farmer on his stomach with a knife.

The injured farmer was said to have raised an alarm which attracted his brother and other farmers who came to his rescue.
He was immediately rushed to an undisclosed hospital for treatment.
The villagers at the farm were alleged to have chased and apprehended the herder when he was trying to escape.
Responding, the Edo state command’s spokesperson, Moses Yamu, confirmed the incident.
He said police received a distress call that one Adi Benedith was stabbed on the stomach by herder and mobilized to the scene and succeeded in arresting the suspected herder.
He said the suspect confessed to the crime while the victim was rushed to the hospital for treatment.
