The herbalist, who is the owner of the Yasin Naturalist Cure, was arrested and arraigned before the court for exaggerating the work of a drug, Pelicine Capsules through advertisement which was against the code of ethics of the Pharmaceutical Council of Nigeria.

Yasin was also charged with the offence of contravening the laws of the Advertisement Practitioners Council of Nigeria (APCON) which had allowed for the advertisement of the drug in Lagos only and in Yoruba language.

 The offence is contrary to section 2 sub section 1a of Food and Drug act Law of 1976 and section 2 sub section of the same provision, and also section (1) of decree No 25 of Counterfeit and Fake Drugs and Unwholesome Processed Food of 1999 constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Presiding over the case, the magistrate, Zuwaira Yusuf Ali, adjoined the case to 11th of the month and allowed for his bail at the sum of N50,000 after producing two sureties of which one must be a civil servant.

Meanwhile, the mobile court has also sentenced Dalhatu Ibrahim and Nafiu Rabiu to one month imprisonment or fine of N5,000 each for alleged hawking of illegal drugs.
