A herbalist caught with a human part in Iwo, Osun State, Hamsat Akeem, said he bought it for N2,000 from a human parts dealer in the community.
The herbalist said he wanted to use the human part for money ritual and that he contacted the dealer, Tajudeen Monsuru, to get it for him which he did without delay.
Akeem spoke with Daily Trust at the police headquarters in Osogbo, where police detectives at the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department held him.
Monsuru was also arrested by police detectives and confessed that he sold the human part to Akeem.
The Commissioner of Police in the state, Wale Olokode, told our correspondent that another suspect, Yusuf Tiamiyu, was also arrested for buying a human head from Monsuru.
Yusuf, who is popularly known as ‘Awayewasere’, in a chat with Daily Trust, said he paid N20,000 to Monsuru for the human head, adding that he bought it for one of his clients.
Monsuru confessed that he had killed several people, sold parts of their bodies for as low as N2,000 and used the money to drink.
CP Olokode said the matter was under investigation and the suspects would be arraigned in court soon.
