A magistrates’ court sitting in Ilọrin, the Kwara State capital, has ordered the remand of one Azeez Saadu over illegal possession and selling of Indian hemp.
According to the charge sheet, the suspect is a major dealer of hemp and other illicit drugs in Mandala community where a correctional centre is located.
Defence counsel, Toyin Onaolapo, urged the court to grant his client bail. However, prosecutor Sekunda countered the prayer and urged the court to remand him.
In his ruling, the Magistrate, Adeniyi, ordered the remand of the suspect and adjourned the case to a later date.
