‘He’ll return to us after losing the election’, Lagos APC taunts LP gubernatorial aspirant

The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has said it is not losing sleep over the defection of one of its chieftains and former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chairman, Hon. Moshood Adegoke Salvador, to the Labour Party (LP).

Salvador formally dumped the APC on Wednesday to pick the LP’s governorship ticket.

He accused the ruling party of sidelining him and reneging on its promises to give Commissioner and Special Adviser positions to his group, the Conscience Forum.

Speaking with Daily Trust on Thursday, spokesman of Lagos APC, Hon. Seye Oladejo, said the party is not worried over Salvador’s defection.

He said APC provided him “shelter” when he lost out in his former party.

He also dismissed the allegations that his group was denied juicy appointments.

Oladejo said, “The party cannot lose sleep over the defection of someone we provided shelter when he lost out in a party where he was the state chairman.

“His claim to have large followership is laughable because that never translated to votes in his former party.

“From the Alliance for Democracy (AD) to PDP to APC and now to Labour party. Even nomads will envy these adventures.

“His allegation of denied juicy promises is another wild imagination of someone who crossed to the winning party that had been the nemesis of his former party since the advent of this dispensation. What will be the basis?

“Perhaps a case of having an exaggerated opinion of his relevance, influence and clout. We expect him back after losing the governorship election next year.”
