Former Minister of State for Agriculture, Heineken Lokpobiri has congratulated Femi Gbajabiamila and George Akume over their appointments as Chief of Staff (COS) to the President and Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), respectively.
Gbajabiamila and Akume’s appointments were announced in a statement on Friday by President Bola Tinubu’s Director, Information, Abiodun Oladunjoye.
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Friday in Abuja announced the appointment of Speaker of House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila as Chief of Staff, and Sen. Ibrahim Hassan Hadejia, a former Deputy Governor of Jigawa State, as Deputy Chief of Staff.
“In a meeting with Progressives Governors Forum (PGF), the President also named former Governor of Benue State and immediate past Minister of Special Duties, George Akume, Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF),” the statement said.
Reacting, Lokpobiri, who is a chieftain of the APC in Bayelsa state, lauded the president for appointing what he described as “men with pedigree” into his kitchen cabinet.
Jack-Rich, who described the COS and SGF’s appointments as well deserved, said the duo were no doubt round pegs in round holes.
He noted that Gbajabiamila’s long term as a federal legislator and Akume’s rich political profile stand them out.
“There is no doubt that the appointment of these men of rich political profiles, depicts that Mr. President will assemble great talents from across the country to assist him in offering purposeful leadership to the Nigerian people,” Lokpobiri added.
