Two siblings were killed in a building collapse in Dambatta Local Government Area of Kano State over the weekend, following torrential rainfall.
The incident occurred while the family was asleep, with the heavy downpour causing part of their two-bedroom house to collapse.
Three other children from the same family, who were also trapped under the debris, were rescued though currently in critical condition.
Malam Ikramatu Dambatta, the father of the victims, recounted their ordeal, saying that with the help of neighbours, they were able to rescue the three trapped children.

“The wall collapsed on us while it was raining. Before we could fully grasp what was happening, two of my children had died, but we managed to rescue three others,” said the grieving father.
Malam Dambatta appealed to the government and kind-hearted individuals for assistance in rebuilding his home, which consisted of only two rooms.
