The Medical Women’s Association of Nigeria (MWAN) has organised a two-day capacity-building training on project management for members of Bichi Emirate Council’s Committee on Health (BECCOH) for effective healthcare services delivery in the emirate.
Addressing the participants, MWAN Project Director, Dr Rahila Mukhtar stated that the training, organised with support from the development Research and Projects Centre (dRPC), was aimed at equipping members of BECCOH and other relevant stakeholders with the skills on how to develop a work plan, source for fund and resource mobilisation as well as ensuring effective and coordinated working relationship between major actors that would ensure effective healthcare delivery system.

She explained that the committee was more concerned with the public awareness campaign on the COVID-19 pandemic and the present epidemic of food poisoning with the aim of sensitising the general public on the dangers involved in the intake of such poisonous products.
In his address, the Emir of Bichi, Alhaji Nasiru Ado Bayero reiterated the need for people to be extra vigilant of what they consume especially during the fasting period adding that the issue of healthcare delivery services needs a holistic approach that requires all hands to be on deck to achieve the desired goal.
