The competition which is for youth teams in the 12 Local Government Areas (LGA) in Daura Senatorial district is staged in appreciation of the laudable achievements of President Muhammadu Buhari

The chairman of the Local Organising Committee (LOC) Alhaji Sani Abu Daura, told Daily Trust that 46 clubs have registered for this year’s edition.

Daura, who said the 2021 edition of the competition was a huge success, maintained that the organisers have put everything in place for a hitch-free tournament.

According to him, the tournament which is tagged ‘PMB Cup for the next level’ is aimed at giving talented football youths in the Daura Senatorial district the opportunity to be identified and nurtured to stardom.

“Apart from the main objective which is to celebrate the laudable achievements of the President Muhammadu Buhari administration, this competition is aimed at positively engaging the youths and providing them with the opportunity to realise their dreams in football.

“The past editions were successful so we are hoping to build on the gains already made by the PMB football competition,” said Daura.

Meanwhile, the District Head of Dutsi, Alhaji Lawal Sani (Marusan Katsina), Alhaji Sade Gambo and other traditional rulers and dignitaries are expected to grace the opening ceremony.
