Hardship: Follow Islamic teachings, Gwandu emir urges traders

The Emir of Gwandu, Alhaji Muhammadu Illiyasu Bashar, on Wednesday met with the business community in Kebbi State on the high prices of food commodities in the state.

The monarch during his interaction with market leaders at his palace in Birnin Kebbi enjoined them to sell their goods in line with the teachings of Islam.

He said the public should stop blaming the government for the situation in the country as everyone contributed to what is being witnessed in the country now.

“We are all to blame; we should stop blaming the government. We should all go back, sit down and see where we need to contribute to improve the economic situation,” the emir said.

He said instead of blaming government, the market traders should be just in the way and manner they sell their food commodities to buyers so that the economic hardship that is currently being witnessed in the country can be resolved.

He enjoined the market traders he summoned to his palace to go back and enlighten others on what he told them so that the economic situation can change for the better.
