Hardship: Arewa youth shares FG’s 2,400 Rice Bags to 436 Groups in Kaduna

Arewa Youth Assembly (AYA) has announced that it has received truck loads of rice (2,400) bags provided by the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led Federal Government of Nigeria.

The Chairman Board of Trustees (BoT) of AYF, Honourable Gambo Ibrahim Gujungu, explained that two trucks of rice were delivered to the forum late Tuesday night and without wasting time, they immediately distributed to 436 groups by Wednesday.
The rice was provided as part of efforts to alleviate the economic hardship faced by ordinary citizens, which led to hunger protests last week.
Comrade Gambo Ibrahim Gujungu stated that the rice was given to these groups to ensure it reached ordinary citizens at the grassroots level.
He explained that the recent protests occurred because people were hungry and needed food.
He said Some northern governors had failed to implement the distribution for reasons beyond their control, while organizations like his are now ensuring that the real beneficiaries receive the aid.
“We were given over 2000 bags of rice from the Federal Government as palliatives to be distributed to religious groups, youth groups, as well as some NGOs and other ordinary citizens. So far about 436 groups benefited .Our aim is to ensure that those it was meant for receive it, and we have accomplished that,” he said.
He noted that the palliatives were distributed under the coordination of the Minister of Finance.
In his remarks, Islamic Scholar Shaikh Muhammad Abubakar Tukur, who represented the Fityanul Islam group at the venue, thanked the Federal Government for the gesture.
He suggested that if the government continues to support youth groups like the Arewa Youth Forum, the palliatives will surely reach ordinary people at the grassroots.
He urged the government to ensure that the palliatives are given to honest individuals in society for fair distribution to ordinary citizens.
