Hanifa: Court adjourns case to February 9

A magistrate’s court sitting at Gidan Murtala has ordered the transfer of the murder case filed against the proprietor of Noble Kids Academy, Nasarawa, Kano, Abdulmalik Tanko, and his accomplices to the state high court.

Tanko, 34, Hashim Isyaku, 37, and Fatima Jibrin, 26, all residents of Tudun Murtala in Nasarawa LGA, were charged for criminal conspiracy, kidnap, confinement and culpable homicide of a 5-year-old pupil of the school, Hanifa Abubakar.

The alleged offences are contrary to sections 97, 274, 277 and 221 of the penal code.

Chief Magistrate Muhammad Jibril granted the order following an application by the state counsel, Aisha Mahmoud, that the case be transferred for lack of jurisdiction.

He ordered the case be taken before Justice Usman Na’abba on February 9 for the re-arraignment of the suspects.

The court ordered that the suspects be remanded in prison custody before re-arraignment in the next court.
