In a statement issued by Alhaji Abdulhamid Babatunde, a family spokesman was quoted as saying that Shinkafi left the country on a Turkish airline flight on Thursday night from Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos on a two-week trip to Istanbul, Turkey, Geneva, Switzerland, London and other European countries.
Alhaji Umaru Shinkafi who was accompanied by family members, will witness the graduation ceremony of his daughter at a university in Istanbul, Turkey and will have business meetings in Geneva, Switzerland before visiting London and some European capitals, the spokesman was quoted as saying.
The spokesman explained that at no time was Shinkafi asked to surrender his passport and travel documents to the police in connection with on-going investigations into the Halliburton alleged bribe of some Nigerians, as reported in the media.
