The Osun State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has registered 1, 245 pilgrims for the 2024 Hajj operation ahead of National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) deadline.
The Chairman of the Board, Sheikh Maruf Ishola, said the total amount for each pilgrim from the state was four million, eight hundred and ninety-nine thousand naira (4,899,000).
During an interactive session between the intending pilgrims and officials the Board, Ishola charged intending pilgrims from Osun to imbibe acceptable conduct so as to achieve a rewarding exercise.
Ishola said the rise in this year’s fare was as a result of foreign exchange, adding that the state government subsidised the fare to enable intending pilgrims to participate.

The Senior Special Adviser to Governor Ademola Adeleke on Osun Muslim Pilgrims Welfare, Alhaja Bolatito Adedeji, said suitable accommodation and other important facilities had been put in place in Saudi Arabia.
Some of the intending pilgrims, Mrs Nusirat Oladipupo and Mr Oyebamiji Ishaq, said they were well prepared physically and spiritually to perform the hajj rites in the Holy land.
