The Fityanul Islam of Nigeria (FIN) has called for more assistance for this year’s intending pilgrims to Saudi Arabia.

This is contained in the communique of the National Working Committee (NWC) meeting held at FIN National Secretariat, Abuja and signed by the Director General Media and Publicity of FIN, Abuja, Ustaz Sani Ibn Salihu.

According to him, the meeting apart from appraising and adopting measures for repositioning the organization also looked at some National issues including this year’s hajj exercise and insecurity.

“The meeting commended the efforts of some state governments who supported 2024 intending pilgrims with some part of the hajj payments and called on other states to emulate them,” Salihu said.

The meeting also resolved to use its social media platforms to fight fake news in the country through functionally useful social media utilization.

While commending the nation’s security agencies effort in fighting insecurity, banditry and other violent crimes, they urge them to sustain the fight and for local communities to refrain from collaborating with the criminals for the protection of national interest.

“Concerning the controversy that arose from the steps taken by Minister of Women affairs on the efforts of the Speaker, Niger State House of Assembly to sponsor the wedding of 100 orphans girls, FIN supports the Speaker 100 percent as his effort is in line with Islamic teachings which those involved profess.

“The meeting also cautions government agencies and functionaries to be mindful of the religions and cultural disposition of Nigerians before making any pronouncement.

“The meeting noted with concern the high cost of living, inflation which are telling on the lives of citizenry and called on government at all levels to take every steps to cushion the hardship on the people and for traders to fear Allah in conducting their business so as to avoid compounding the hardship on the citizens through profiteering,” the communique said.
