Hadiza Abubakar emerges northern govs’ wives chair

The Bauchi State governor’s wife,  Hajiya Hadiza Mohammed Abubakar, has emerged the new chairperson of the Northern Governors Wives Forum (NGWF). 

She was elected after a meeting held by wives of the northern states governors at the Yankari Games Reserve in Bauchi and attended by 12 governors wives who resolved to tackle, among other things, the menace of domestic abuse against women and incidence of drug abuse in the north. 

Speaking earlier, Mrs Abubakar said the forum would focus on improving the lives of women, children and youths as the most vulnerable groups in the society. 

Speaking, Governor Mohammed Abubakar said his administration was paying special attention to women and children especially in the healthcare and education sectors.
