Brazil’s Beatriz Haddad Maia captured her first WTA title on Sunday when she defeated the USA’s Alison Riske 6-4, 1-6, 6-3 in the Nottingham grass-court final.
Haddad Maia, ranked at a career-high 48, fought back from an early breakdown in the third set before prevailing after two hours and 18 minutes.

The 26-year-old had lost her only other final appearance to Jelena Ostapenko at Seoul in 2017.
