The Emir of Gwandu, Iliyasu Bashar, has suspended the most senior councillor in his Gwandu Emirate Council, the Wazirin Gwandu, Alhaji Abdullahi Umar for misconduct.
The suspension was conveyed to the Wazirin Gwandu in a letter written to him by the secretary of the council, Musa Usman Bashar, dated February 23, 2021, and a copy of which made available to Daily Trust.

The letter read in part: “I most humbly wish to write and notify you that the Emir of Gwandu, Alhaji Muhammadu Iliyasu Bashar, has directed me to convey to you his decision that you have been suspended until further notice from the council with effect from 23rd February 2012.
“The decision followed the Emir’s stance on the letters you have written as follows, a letter written to the secretary of Gwandu emirate council dated 9th February 2012.
“The letter was written and tendered through the secretary, Gwandu emirate council to Usman Dalhatu Zaria, dated 9th February 2021 and other letters you have sent to persons best known to you.”
