The president of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau, has approved a maiden edition of football tournament tagged ‘NFF president Pre Season Cup’ to be played in Kano in his honour.
The president gave the approval at a meeting with members of the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) of the competition when he paid an official visit to Kano state during the weekend.

Gusau who expressed delight at the initiative urged the organisers of the pre-season football tournament to ensure a level playing field for all the participating clubs.
The Zamfara State born football administrator also said he is ready to assist any laudable initiative that would move the round leather game forward in any part of the country.
Earlier, the LOC Chairman, Alhaji Aba Huraira, said he and his members decided to organize the competition to rejoice with the new NFF President over his victory in the election which was held in Benin City.
He also said 12 clubs made up of eight clubs in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) will feature in the tournament which will start in a few days time and be completed before the kick-off of the 2022/2023 league season.
According to him, matches would be played at the Sani Abacha stadium and Kano Pillars stadium in Sabon-Gari.
