Gunmen suspected to be armed robbers have attacked two traditional rulers in Yola community in Wase Local Government Area of Plateau State, killing one of them, Mustafa Ibrahim, the Garkuwan Yola.
The incident came a day after suspected bandits attacked Pinau community of same LGA where hundreds of cattle were rustled and houses and food items burnt.

Abdullahi Usman, a resident of Wase, who confirmed the incident to Daily Trust, said, “The traditional rulers were on their way on a motorcycle to a hospital near Wase town to visit a patient when the gunmen attacked them.
“The body of Mustafa Ibrahim has since been recovered by the police and handed over to the family. We were at the scene of the incident this morning (Thursday). The deceased has been buried. The other victim, the village head of Yola, Muhammadu Adamu, has returned home, but the criminals went away with the motorcycle.”
When contacted, the spokesperson of the police in the state, ASP Ubah Gabriel, promised to call our correspondent back on the development but did not do so as at press time.
